Practise the special manoeuvres
Drive the half turn (halve draai), straight reversing (recht achteruit) and reversing around the corner (achteruit de hoek om) with a car and trailer, seen from above and in the mirrors. Watch how it goes first, then drive it with the coach, then alone.
Concept translation: the Dutch text prevails.

On a phone: one tap on steer turns the wheel a twentieth of a turn; holding keeps it turning steadily. The wheel stays where you leave it. Let go of Forward or Reverse and you stand still.
Which way do you steer in reverse?
- In reverse the trailer goes the other way. Steer left, and the back of the trailer goes right, and the other way round.
- In the mirror: if the trailer comes too close to the kerb, steer towards that side. Then it moves away from it.
- First turn in, then follow. First steer the trailer the right way. Once it turns, steer the same way as the trailer, so the car follows it. If you do not, it jackknifes.
- Early and small. The trailer responds only a few seconds later. The earlier you steer, the easier it goes.
- Angle too large? Drive forward a little to straighten car and trailer.
